The Press Release is Dead?

by Rob Stokes

2005/07/02

Here is an article about a guy who rescued his mother’s favourite £50 painting moments before a landslide destroyed his house. He has now found out its worth £300k. Lucky chap.

The fact that this news item has made it from California to South Africa means it’s on the PR wires big time. I bet the painting sells for much more than it’s really worth because now there’s a story behind it. Clever.

I think Sally is wrong, the press release is not dead it’s just used badly most of the time.
