New feed URL

A quick note that our feed URL has changed from the original FeedBurner one - it's now

http://www.gottaquirk.com/rss.xml

The old one should however work ad infinitum (or at least as long as FeedBurner stays around). We switched to retain more control over our feed in future - to me a feedburner URL has something of the smack of quirk@polka.co.za to it... seriously.

i believe that it would be good for you to have digg and delicious tags at the end of each post. i also think that unless there's a better solution to rss tracking than feedburner, and you own it, then you should tell us about it!

Nice work! I see that within only 3 days from Scott mentioning you should put Dig / delicious tags on ever post... I'm pleased to find them there already. As for the reasoning behind why you are kicking the Feedburner habit... I'm curious? Would you mind going into a little more detail on the decision making process. Thanks.

Basically, I feel that an RSS link is a valuable piece of marketing property. Its a URL you can advertise, share and promote both internally and externally. Putting it in the hands of another company, and improving their branding at the expense of yours, is not a great idea IMO. Also, there is nothing Feedburner can do beyond what every other stats package can do - create a hash of IP and user agent to estimate visitor count. All in all, I find it simpler and better to keep it inhouse.
