Addictions - clicks behind closed doors

by Sarah Aitken

2006/12/20

2007 is around the corner and the dreaded New Year’s resolutions are looming. Once again I find myself pondering all the addictions I need to give up on the 1st Jan.

I read this article earlier today on News24. The word “quirky” caught my attention in the first sentence (no prizes for guessing why). The article refers to the range of modern addictions and maladies that the Internet has spawned. I had a good chuckle at a few of these – mainly because most of the QuirkStars are guilty of them to some degree – don’t deny it! I check the GottaQuirk and the Quirk site stats on a daily basis, and after a brief squizz at the keyword searches, I can tell you exactly which QuirkStars are “ego-surfing.” Ahem…. Rob…. ;-)

Have a read through the list and let us know how many of these addictions apply to you. I’d let you know which ones I’ll be giving up, but that would be telling…

Isn't it great when your AddiCTion benefits people and not the usual lose everything type of addiction?

I doubt Rob would click on Quirky links in the SERPs. One of my personal rules is not to click on any site I'm monitoring via SERPs, messes with the stats.
