Some time ago, Rob posted about Quirk’s 2007 Internship Program.
Well, this week, the Cape Town QuirkStation welcomes some fresh new talent, Carlos and Tristan. Handpicked from a pretty impressive group, they are the first in what may become an annual internship program.
One of the big problems with eMarketing in South Africa is the lack of talent. So we’re hoping this program will be part of the solution.
We’re pretty much throwing them into the deep-end. No polly-otter. No pool-noodle. Not even a lilo. If they sink, we’ll probably fish them out with a net or whatever, but they look like swimmers to me. We’re taking bets around the office.
All this week they’ll be getting a crash course on each of Quirk services. First we confuse them. Then we teach them. By the end of the week, they’ll probably know more about eMarketing than many people who’ve been around the industry for a lot longer than they have.
I’ll get them to post something on here later this week so we can get a better idea of who they are and what they want out of life at Quirk.
