Presidential Redesign

Smallz mentioned Barak Obama in his post “President 2.0” a while back, but it would seem as if it isn’t just social media that he is embracing.  He started by hiring Chicago based Sender LLC, a brand consultancy and design studio to do his initial branding.  His campaign logo and general identity have elevated him far above the traditional blandness of his rivals.

Now he’s upped the ante by posting these videos on YouTube.  More MTV than Capitol Hill, he seems to have faultlessly gauged the message, the medium and his audience.

Let’s face it, the sentiments are clichéd, but it’s all about the delivery.  Lets be honest, most politicians speak the same hollow language, so it’s hardly likely that this will be noticed by the average voter.

I’d vote for him just on his perceived “cool-factor” and one wonders how many others may do the same.

Fantastic!  As cliche as the animation video's may be (ie. dropping the mike to accept an Obama badge) I register with full effect what he is trying to say and thats where these video's make or break. It takes guts to purse this route when power seems like a world of white paper, signatures, cigars and brown leather couches Perhaps he knows that his best target market at this point is a population disillusioned with politics and the way it works. No one can say if his promises will be fulfilled if he comes into power. Rather than going the "Capitol Hill" route with all the eagles and splendour of USA, he has chosen to highlight the "Achilles heel" of his nation. All great civilizations fall and USA is not exempt. If they do not listen to people like Obama...people may stop listening to them and all the military might in the world will not make us think otherwise. The underpriveleged form the majority of this earth and the internet is becoming their voice. Ignore them at your peril.
