I come to eMarketing somewhat by chance…but I am of the belief that the best things often happen that way. I was, until recently doing a Master’s at UCT, but thought that my dwindling enthusiasm was cause for concern and that maybe I had wandered too far down the wrong path - never a good thing when there are 50 000 words between you and the end of that path.
I knew that I wanted to write (just maybe not a masters thesis) and so I started applying for jobs that had that word in the job title – a pretty effective method as it turns out. Early on in my search, I found Quirk and an ad that read copywriter. A hop, a skip, a jump, a 48 hour copy test and two interviews later, here I am.
My first day?
- Well, no one moaned about my incessant coughing, and I managed to convince myself that the earphones jammed into everyone’s ears were normal.
- The coffee is good.
- The boys pay homage to small plastic toys, My Little Ponies and action figures.
- I got my car clamped. (And let me tell you, it took all my feminine wiles to persuade security that I had not, in fact, parked in someone’s bay purely to be facetious.)
So far so good then…







the small plastic toy thing is starting to worry me - they are everywhere...freaks!!!!!!
