What exactly am I referring to? Well it seems I may have forgotten to introduce myself before diving right into the mix with all kinds of outrageous viral predictions.

So here goes. I am one of the new interns here at Quirk eMarketing. What this entails exactly, I can't really say. To be honest, I'm still kind of working that out, but it is starting to become clearer. What I do know though is that everyone here is really friendly and making the transition into the working world a far more pleasant experience than expected. I mean who gets to go to the office Christmas party on the third day?! Who am I? I went to school at Pinelands High, making me the fourth in the office, and giving us a one man advantage over the Bosch boys. I am fresh out of varsity and with an undergraduate degree in economics and a year of marketing under my belt – all from UCT. It was in fact at UCT that I was first introduced to Quirk, but I think the fact that I played cricket once upon a time might actually be the reason I landed this position – it was the first time I had been to an interview that started with the question, “So do you bowl or bat?”.

Getting back to what I have learnt at Quirk so far, the work is interesting and exciting and Riaan, the Systems Administrator (aka The Drill Sergeant) is the man whose good books you want to be in. The reason: The speed of your Internet connection is directly related to your relationship with Riaan – I am still trying to figure out the exact algorithm ;-)
