When I grow up, I want to be a Supermodel Geek
Back in the day, there were The
Geeks. The
Geeks were beautiful. On the inside. But like,
seriously deeply inside. The
Geeks were subjected to much ridicule throughout any form of educational career. They were
underrepresented and stereotyped in movies, music and advertising. Indeed, the world was rife with Geekism, in other words
discrimination against Geeks.
Then The Geek got stinking rich.
Money = Cool.
TV shows like "Beauty and the Geek" showed us that
Geeks, in fact, have feelings too (but also propagated the myth that
Beauties really don't have much brainpower). The
cool kids started playing
Starcraft. Jocks and cheerleaders alike set up profiles on
Facebook and
MySpace and became
little hybrid Geek-breeds of their own.
Now, Geek culture has been taken one step further. One could call it
Geek Couture, or just plain fashion. You can get your very own,
hand-knitted Space Invader scarf and join the Geek Crusade. It's even got a hot chick in the photo. We have come a long way since the days when the only hot Geek chick was actually some minger dude posing in a chat forum... It's nice knowing that nowadays, not only will the next generation of Geek Kids
not be persecuted in the playground, but they will be the trendsetters of tomorrow.
I'm just wondering when the Ginger Movement is due?
P.S.
Take the test to see if you
are part of the elite :)
