Internet-lessness

Nashua Mobile has just launched a really fun “holistic” campaign: TV, Radio and Web – the way it should be (big smile).

If you haven't seen it yet … check it out so you can appreciate what the hell I’m going on about!

P.S. The “he wanted to show me his blog” bit cracks me up every time … it is freekin' funny and I can so relate! I have heard some pretty funny Internet-lessness comments in my time…. and this campaign hits that spot perfectly.

So what exactly is Internet-lessness (besides being a very cool word)?

According to the campaign site it is:
Internet-lessness is defined as “an absence of a connection to the Internet resulting from high connection costs and/or a lack of knowledge of the benefits of being connected to the Internet”.

People with Internet-lessness:
  • may be so uninformed that they don’t know what Internet-lessness is
  • don’t know what LOL, OMG and WTF mean
  • look for information in something called a “library”
  • think Facebook is a novel about an A-Team character
  • slap people when they say they’re going to Google them
  • think that people who ask if they have a blog are enquiring about their bowel movement
  • think YouTube is the bendy bit on the back of the toilet
  • don’t know the difference between ADSL and RSVP
Signs that someone you know might have Internet-lessness include:
  • they go to something called a “post office” in order to buy a “stamp” to affix to an “envelope”
  • they think an mp3 is a coalition of Ministers of Parliament
  • they think a search engine is another name for a helicopter”
Definitely think the word Internet-lessness qualifies to be added to our glossary :)

Well done! This is an awesome campaign …. Typically, I would love to know what the campaign ROI is?

Couldn't agree more! I think it's the funniest ad campaign I've seen in ages, especially in a time where the advertising has been so dry and uninspired. Well done to whoever came up with it!
