Fred and Sharon, a couple from Canada who, until recently, were pretty unknown internationally, made an ad for their video services that has managed to achieve some online notoriety.
A few bloggers have posted about them – with commentary ranging from mean to interesting. Scaryideas posted the video with the headline “Fred and Sharon’s movies: the worst ad ever or a brilliant viral?”, and as has become apparent in the way the ad has spread, the answer is; yes and yes.
Much like the ad Carlos wrote about in When viral bites, this viral has achieved some traction because it’s just…well… really bad. Their target audience obviously wasn’t a world of animators and seasoned film buffs, but these are the people the ad has become most interesting to, just because of its pure naivety.
“Who needs a movie” has become a viral success, without that necessarily translating into success for Fred and Sharon. It seems the immediate world stage they found themselves on is a bit more than they had bargained for. To see more of their work visit www.fredandsharonsmovies.com.

That is spectacular. I got to get me a video by Fred and Sharon!
Absolutely love the fact that they want you to pay on their site to watch more of their stuff...
