Secondly, I was not the one who found this clip. As hard as it may be to believe, most of us don’t spend all day in the QuirkStation searching for naked clips of construction workers. Carlos did it (I won't say more). But the way in which I came to write about it goes a long way to explain its appeal and effectiveness as a viral.

After agreeing to write this weekend’s viral, Carlos emailed the clip with strict instructions not to watch it until he was there. Apparently he needed to see my reaction. Unfortunately for him, I had already seen it and he was left massively disappointed. Therein lies the beauty of this clip. It is not particularly clever or fresh - every other men’s ad uses the same tactic - use our product and panties will just drop. But its risqué nature means that you want to pass it on, if only to embarrass your co-workers for your own amusement.

The first time I watched it I admit, I was maybe a tad embarrassed and might have looked furtively around the room to check that no one could see my screen. I definitely didn’t rush out to buy construction wear (doesn’t come in pink or match my heels), but I am not quite the target market anyway. What I did do was pass it on. After all, shared embarrassment is just more fun and in this case, makes you feel like less of a pervert.

Side note - A quick Google search reveals that the pretty blonde in the beginning (look up guys) is actually a school teacher and is now in a whole load of trouble.
