Download SearchStatus

We’ve just released the latest version of SearchStatus - our awesome tool for all you Search Engine Marketer and eMarketing professionals!

SearchStatus is a handy toolbar extension for Firefox  and Mozilla (tested on Firefox 0.9 to 3.0) that combines valuable insight with easy access. It’s the world’s favourite SEO toolbar, with 3003 weekly downloads and has been installed by upwards of 440 000 people.

It shouldn’t be tough to see why we’re pretty excited about the recent upgrade. The man who put it all together, our own Craig, is pretty excited about it too:

"The inclusion of SEOMoz’s mozRank into SearchStatus is really exciting. Rand and his team have been leaders in SEO for years and SearchStatus now brings their pioneering work into your browser.” – Craig Raw

In case you didn’t know, Quirk SearchStatus’ features include easy-to-reach access to

  • Google PageRank
  • Alexa Ranking
  • Compete Ranking
  • SEOMoz mozRank
  • NoFollow Link Highlighting
  • Keyword Density
  • Robots.txt
  • Sitemaps
  • Extensive link information from Google, Yahoo! and MS Live

The new version's features include:

  • New mozRank ranking from SEOMoz's Linkscape.
  • New ‘Private mode'. When in Private mode, the ranking providers (Google, Alexa etc.) are not automatically contacted on loading a new URL. Instead, each provider needs to be clicked on to obtain the individual ranking. All rankings can be requested simply by clicking on the Quirk "q".
  • Indexed pages and backward links for Yahoo! now go directly to SiteExplorer.
  • Loading new tabs in the background now works better, particularly when highlighting nofollow links.

Installing SearchStatus

SearchStatus’s Firefox toolbar extension is pretty quick and easy to install. Here’s how:

  • Visit the Quirk SearchStatus download page.
  • Choose your browser (Firefox or Mozilla).
  • If necessary, give your browser permission to install the extension by clicking ‘Allow’ in the top right corner
  • Click ‘Install now’ and restart your browser.

What are you waiting for? Update or install the add-on, it’s useful and free, what could be better?

Comments

Hi, I enjoyed using this tool for Firefox, but with the last update the function “Show Backward Links” was changed, for example with previous version links in Yahoo looked like this:
1) http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=linkdomain%3Aexample.com+-site%3Aexample.com&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

and now they look like this:
2) http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=example.com&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=s

Can you please let me know what I should do so the links look like in option 1?
Thanks

Hi Breckenridge - perhaps you could explain why you preferred the old method? The search.yahoo.com query was redirected to Site Explorer anyway, and the new method simply takes advantage of Site Explorer's features.
