At midnight on Saturday, Quirk turned 10 and (to use a Stokes word) the party was a ripper!
The party was held atop the exclusive LightBox in Greenpoint, where guests streamed in to celebrate Quirk’s birthday in style.
The Quirky outfits ranged from backwards men and batmen to the big bad wolf (and his little red riding hood). A special mention should go out to Marius and Louw who dressed as browsers (Safari Internet Explorer and Opera). They walked away with the grand prize of a weekend at the five star Table Bay Hotel (jealous, huh?). It was a close call though, with Mr. Oakes the dreadlocked pirate (Jack Sparrow), Grant Powers (Groovy Baby), Sue the blonde haired Egyptian Goddess and Yasin (our very own Steve Urkel) each making quite an impression. The ladies from Keedo showed up in full style with burning candles on their hats!
Our winners: The Browsers (Opera and Safari).

Rob, clad in his worst suit and steamy Borat moustache made a short and sweet speech thanking all those who had come to join in the fun and to those who've been a part of such a vibrant and diverse company. Here’s to the next ten!
Rob and Santi, looking mellow. :)
Other highlights included the Facebook photo booth where guests were given a chance to strut their stuff in front of the camera and show us their “maximum sexy” looks. With thousands of photos taken, it was a hit! As the night progressed they kept coming back for more. Check out the photos on our Facebook page here.
The venue offerred an amazing view, even before the sun went down.

Our Live Twitter Stream lit up the back wall of the main room which highlighted all these quirky tweets. It should make for an interesting read, especially given that our last tweeter ended up in the pool.
Entertainment, like love, was all around. Guests mingled among Playstations, Nintendo Wiis, Guitar Hero and an electric drum kit. Many stopped by to watch the talented Mr Neil Phyfer who spent his evening turning a blank canvas into a graffiti masterpiece. We can’t wait to have this cool geek put up in the office!

Shiny shiny green stuff, the guests start getting down.
Putting a beat to the rhythm of the evening were a jazz duo, Amy Larter and Bokani Macha as well as the funky DJ, Toby2Shoes, who got people to rip it up on the dancefloor. The delicious smell of lamb on the spit floated amidst all the dancing and revelry and Stefan from Flavah ensured that no one went hungry when he served his tasty shwarmas and snacks.
Thanks to our lovely sponsors - Distell and Mitchells - the drinks were plentiful and accompanied by the ever so sweet Lindt chocolate. All the bar infrastructure and furniture was provided by Savanna who also ensured the night was not without style or comfort. Finally, just to round it off, Crabtree and Evelyn kindly provided hand cream in the bathrooms.
By the end of the night when glasses started to pile up and eyes started to droop, Tim and the interns were terribly proud of the work they’d put into the evening that turned out to be a smashing success. Those who'd partied enthusiastically were sent home in Quirk sponsored taxis. The QuirkStars showed their support by staying late into the night, frequenting the pool in their outfits and cutting air on the d-floor, in true Quirk style. Respect.
Quirk turning ten was an opportunity to bond with colleagues, feel like a kid again, enjoy good food, good company and a spectacular venue. Thanks to all those who put blood sweat and tears (literally) into the evening and thanks to those who came for the kick-ass party.
