This is another gem that we sourced from ViralBlog, (something we do occasionally, but only because they’re awesome :)). Playing on that part of human nature that needs to understand how things work, this viral series, released by Samsung in partnership with the Viral Factory did exactly what it was supposed to do – create a stir and get the community talking. It’s a novel idea; not only did Samsung generate a brand buzz, but they showcased a new product and positioned themselves as innovative, progressive and cool at the same time.
The first video was shot in one take using the Samsung OMNIA HD, also known as i8910 HD, with 8 megapixel built-in camera. It was published on YouTube in April and by 3pm yesterday, had attracted 861 021 views and 1853 comments. The reason? Well, essentially Samsung challenged viewers to solve a puzzle – how did they make the phone disappear while still filming.
You need to watch this one first.
Of course, once sufficient conversation had been generated, Samsung released this second video, which not only presented some of the more creative solutions that people posed (including something about the phone metamorphosising into a vampire and thus not reflecting in the mirror) , but also solved the mystery of the disappearing phone. I’m not going to be a Buzz Killington and tell you how they do it - watch the video and you’ll know soon enough.

Amazing! This is the single best piece of viral content I have ever seen.
Perfectly presented to the target market. Gets key USPs across. Differentiates from competitors 100%. Drives engagement. Has offline WOM value. Excellent!
My only wish is that I'd taken a little longer and confirmed my hunch (an old magic effect) before watching the spoiler :(
Nice one Lyns!
