Not stopping at conquering air travel, Virgin take to the rails with Virgin Trains; a system of fast, overland trains connecting London to Glasgow. With their winning combo of innovation and personality it seems Virgin can do anything and their new line of adverts re-launching Virgin Trains definitely don’t disappoint. They are slick, well thought out and funny. Well, they made me laugh.
The first advert portrays Becky, commencing a cross country trip to visit her boyfriend. Virgin have released an alternative ending for the online version, which is a clever way to drive viewership online and tie the TV ads in with an online campaign. Packed with sly sexual innuendo and cameo appearances from Sir Branson himself and Caprice, this ad is set for viral greatness.
The second advert focuses on Ed, a business man on his way to Glasgow to make an all important presentation. “The Final Countdown” plays as Ed finished his presentation on the train to cheers from passengers and the train staff. This awesome revert back to the 80’s will have you cheering in your seat.
Branson obviously knows the value of good advertising, rumour has it this is his first appearance in a TV advert in 10 years. So without any more fluff, watch the adverts and have a little chuckle.

Well, I must say Richard Branson has really set out to conquer the travel industry; maybe a last ditch attempt at becoming the next Bill Gates in asset value, though he has quite a way to go.
But as far as train travel is concerned, I personally think Virgin Trains is the best train service out there. Fast, modern, competitive travel rates, a useful service indeed.
