In the EA Game’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, Tiger can perform what they called a ‘Jesus Shot’, where he walks on water to hit a ball that landed on a lily pad in the lake. Gamers, and particularly a gamer with the YouTube handle Levinator25, viewed this as a  glitch in the game rather than a special feature.

EA Games reacted brilliantly with a video response showing Tiger Woods performing a real ‘Jesus Shot’ where he walks on water to hit the ball. The introduction to the video included a personal message: “Levinator25, you seem to think that your Jesus Shot video was a glitch in the game”.  The video ends with the message “It’s not a glitch, he’s just that good”.

This, now famous, Walk on Water video has received 3, 355, 185 views on YouTube. With the new PGA Tour 10 game coming out (just in time for the U.S. Open), it’s now Rocco Mediate’s turn to play Tiger’s role. This week’s viral is a follow up to the Walk on Water video and again includes a personal message to Levinator25. See what happens when Rocco attempts the Jesus Shot.

The next Tiger Woods PGA Tour video will not be produced by EA Sports and the videogame publisher is hosting a video challenge for a $50 000 prize. The challenge is to make a video that can beat the success of the Walk on Water video. This witty use of crowdsourcing will no doubt produce some hilarious results
