The news of Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” meeting his untimely death at the age of 50 has shaken the world. Whether by Tweeting, Facebooking or blogging, the world has come together to pay homage to this pop legend. An iconic star from a young age, he shaped the music industry and became one of the most popular entertainers of his time thanks to a series of hits like “Beat it”, “Beat it” and “Thriller”.

As Kat mentioned on Friday, there has been a social media eruption surrounding this event.

Regardless of the controversy that surrounded the latter years of his life, there is no denying his talent – in his singing, dancing and of course, his signature “moon walk”. In fact, his albums featured on the top 15 spots on Amazon and on the viral video chart – MJ music videos featured in 17 spots of the top 20.
