A few days ago, on a wet and cold wintery morning, I received an email about an agency referred to as BooneOakley. Naturally, every agency wants to express its creative prowess through their websites and online presence. Visit most agency sites today, and you will be greeted with their so-called creative and unique touch. Why is BooneOakley so special I hear you ask – well quite simply, BooneOakley has managed to do something completely different. They have placed their website on YouTube!

And it worked!

This YouTube experimentation proved to be an amazingly successful creative endeavour. Take a look below for yourself…

Personally, this is one of the most creative websites I have ever seen. BooneOakley has created such a great experience that you will find yourself wanting to go back, time and time again. Essentially, what they have created is an interactive YouTube video that functions as a full agency website right from their portfolio through to the contact us page.

The buttons in the video are clickable and this is constructed using the 'Annotations' feature in YouTube. A timeline across the X-axis lets you leap to whatever section you want to see and at any time. These sections include "Featured Work", "About Us" and "Billy" - the story of a mild-mannered marketing director who hires an agency owned by a holding company, gets fired and eventually gets killed by his pissed off wife. Cool, right?!

The use of the video slider as a navigation tool and embedded links in the video, makes for a surprisingly slick and easy-to-use execution. The narrative of the story is nicely done too, with simple animation and plenty of fun and humour. The partner bios even manage to be entertaining.

Awesome stuff!

So far, a Google search for BooneOakley gets me almost 136,000 results, with articles from many of the world’s top news agencies. The above main home page clip alone has been viewed 382,041 times so far.

Even though it remains to be seen whether this agency is actually a cut above its industries competitors, they have certainly been able to get their proverbial foot in the door.

Haha, amazing site/video. I loved the beatboxing throughout the videos and of course the all the humor they've put in.

Finally someone is using the full potential of YouTube.
