Quirk Celebrates Global Entrepreneurial Week

by Mari Basson

2009/11/23

We love entrepreneurs. I thus thought it worth mentioning that last week was Global Entrepreneurial Week (GEW), a great initiative that will no doubt have a significant effect on some bright young minds. .

Millions of young people worldwide joined an expanding movement of entrepreneurs who celebrate innovative thinking, imagination and creativity. They took part in local, national and global activities that helped them explore and shape their potential as innovative entrepreneurs.

GEW is a global initiative by two leaders in entrepreneurial thinking - The Kaufmann Foundation and Make your Mark, UK’s campaign to give individuals the confidence and skills to make their dreams a reality .

If you missed it this year, we suggest you keep a look out next year. We also thought this in keeping with our current brief up on Idea Bounty. Together with The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, we’re challenging entrepreneurs worldwide to put their creativity to the test and come up with an idea to find bright young individuals through a mobile phone campaign, activation or application.

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to equip gifted young people with the skills, attitudes and motivation to become successful entrepreneurs and make a noticeable difference in Southern Africa. Get involved, share the opportunity and let us know your thoughts!
