In the current day and age where internetlessness is taboo and everyone is constantly searching for the hippest most high-tech gadget, it’s no surprise that traditional avenues of connectivity and news have started to seem redundant (imagine newspapers and faxes as the fat kid who was always picked last for the baseball game).
The Sun newspaper in Britain recently released this cheeky, but very pertinent-to-the-times-of-techno-fever advert. It advertises their good ol’ newspaper as something that is just as cool as the latest touch screen iPhone or Social Media enabled Blackberry, if not even more awesome.
In a time when traditional media can hardly compete with its younger and hipper grand-child, technology, the 40 year old Sun has successfully made a powerful point to all the gadget geeks out there. Better yet (and ironically), they’ve used the Internet to do so and jumped on the viral bandwagon! It’s clever, it’s funny and to me, it makes downright good sense. It seems that I share my sentiments with the other 49,184 people that have watched it. Now it’s your turn.
