Urban Dictionary Gets some Viral Love on Facebook

According to the Urban Dictionary I’m “one of the prettiest, smartest, cutest, evil, caring, creative, talented, true punk, psycho, rioting, magic-weilding, sick acting, cute fat cheeks, puts-a-smile-on-my-face, amazing and most beautiful girls ever. actually.. the only one of her kind.”

Sho, quite a lofty description. So, before you think I’m incredibly egotistical – I don’t normally look my name up in the Urban Dictionary – ever (which is called "urbaning" by the way). It’s all for a very good cause: Urban Dictionary Week, and it’s a noteworthy viral movement on Facebook. Clever, right? It seems that viral campaigns have spectacular potential on Facebook, remember the one for Breast Cancer Awareness?

What makes the Urban Dictionary viral campaign exceptionally interesting is that Urban Dictionary had nothing to do with it, yet they’re enjoying the love from the community and the spike in traffic. According to Urlesque.com who got in touch the founders of Urban Dictionary, the viral campaign came as a complete surprise to them. “Many thanks to whoever started it! We've been working hard the past few days to make the site perform well, now that so many people are visiting. It will be interesting to see what happens next!”

So here’s how to spread the viralove: Go to Urban Dictionary, type in your first name, copy and paste this as your Facebook status, and put the first entry for your name under comments. And presumably watch all your friends do it – viral heaven and some always-welcome awareness for Urban Dictionary.

haha! I totally did this, but did not post it on my FB due to some very choice words coming up!

However, I did email it to all my friends, and got them to do it via email!
