I’m not a fan of talent shows or reality television. I’m far too manly for them. When there’s a life of philandering and public indecency to be had, I know where my interests lie.
Of course, things change slightly when beer enters the equation. As any manly man will attest, there are few things more wondrous than an ice cold lager. It has the power to transcend all boundaries and change one’s perception entirely. Which just happens to be the premise behind Heineken’s latest TV spot (and you thought I was blathering on pointlessly).
It’s both topical and amusingly daft, and with 490,789 views and 16,369 Facebook shares so far, it has well and truly invaded the interwebz. To use an advertising buzzword, it appeals to a human truth – that being that most men go bonkers for beer.
