Some of you may already know that last week Quirk launched a new short course in Applying Social Media to Business Challenges. The course aims to teach students about how various Social Media principles can applied to your business in order to interact with your consumers and build strong brand-consumer relationships.

This part-time course runs for six weeks and is completed online via the Quirk Learning Centre. The content of this online distance learning course will focus on case studies that illustrate how the tools of Social Media have provided solutions and opportunities for dealing with real business challenges. The weekly modules will cover:

  • An introduction to Social Media, its evolution, major tools and platforms and the challenges it poses to businesses wanting to integrate Social Media into their marketing strategies.
  • How Social Media can be used to engage with your consumers and build online communities.
  • The use of Social Media tools as direct sales channels.
  • Managing the online reputation of a brand using Social Media channels.
  • How Social Media can be used as a means of providing consumers with direct avenues to reach their brand.
  • Increasing awareness about a brand and reaching a large audience through Social Media.

The cost of the course is R5900.
