Opera has not only taken on Google Chrome in terms of the speed of their search but also in their testing methodology. Opera’s pair of Scandinavian browser testers put together a ‘highly technical’ experiment to see whether the Opera browser is faster than a potato.
The video is a parody of the Google Chrome videos which were done to highlight the speed of the Chrome browser. Instead of setting a normal benchmark, Google took it to the extreme and compared the speed of the browser to things such as a potato cannon and sound waves – things the average person is definitely able to use as a point of reference.
Odd and his brother (the Scandinavian browser testers) turn the Google Chrome experiment on its head and the result is hilarious. Over 972 521 people have watched with suspense as they await the final outcome of the experiment. Every aspect of the video is humorous and the fact that they are taking on their biggest competitor in such a direct way is what makes the most impact.
