A few weeks ago, the most amazing thing happened in the Johannesburg QuirkStation, we all fell in love with Microsoft, even before Valentine's Day. Let me clarify what I mean by that before I get lynched by my fellow Mac users… we fell in love with Microsoft Xbox Kinect.
As a thank you gift for the work that we have done on the new ZA Tech Show blog, Simon Dingle and Craig Rodney arrived at the Quirk offices with a brand new Xbox 360 and 2 games. It’s not very often that agencies get thank-you gifts from clients so this was a very special day for us. We instantly converted from stressed adults into overly excited children, fighting over who was going to play it first.

Just as we thought it couldn’t get any better, we got a delivery from Microsoft South Africa… the new Xbox Kinect unit with 5 Kinect games! Microsoft had heard about our new toy and wanted to make our Xbox experience even better. Ever since then, we’ve been using our leisure time to burn calories while laughing our heads off playing Kinectimals, Dance Central, Kinect Adventures and Kinect Sports. But don’t take my word for it, here are what some of the Jozi QuirkStars have to say about Xbox Kinect:
I love Xbox Kinect because:
- “…you can dance around without people thinking you’re an idiot.” - Danielle
- “…it brings the people together.” - Sam J
- “…it makes breaking a sweat sexy.” - Sindi
- “…I love watching coworkers making a fool of themselves.” - Sam B
- “…it reads your movements accurately when you dance.” - Sheena
- “…it energises you after a long week of work.” - Heidi
If you want to know which Kinect games to buy for yourself, look out for our Kinect Game reviews on this blog. If you live in Joburg, feel free to pop into the Jozi QuirkStation on Friday afternoons to come and burn some calories with us! If you live in Cape Town, we hear they have a popcorn machine. Shame.
