2011/11/12

Picking up no less than seven awards at the fourth annual Bookmarks Awards on Thursday, Quirk has proven why we are considered the leader of the pack in South African digital marketing, following on our seven award haul at last month’s International Davey Awards.

The ceremony was hosted by the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) at Pigalle in Cape Town.

Having doubled the size of the agency in the last 10 months, a truly stressful endeavour on its own, we are all very proud of our amazing team. It is truly an honour to achieve this recognition by our industry.

Our very own Digital Buddha, Rob Stokes says it is important for agencies that deliver great results over and above client expectations to be recognised for their efforts across the industry. The Quirk team has worked incredibly hard this year and these wins pay respect to the truly world class team we have at our agency.

Awards won included:

Group Awards

•    Best Digital Agency
•    Best in Show :: Capitec Bank Infographic
•    Gold Award :: Capitec Bank Infographic
•    Silver Award ::  Quirk Education Videos
•    Bronze Award :: Savanna Lemon Lovin’

Individual Awards

•    Best Media Planner - Andre Britz

We have to congratulate everyone else who scooped an award – it’s awesome to see the digital industry in South Africa growing up so fast and the standard of work soaring to new heights!

Nikki Cockcroft, Chairperson of the DMMA and Bookmarks Chair, said that the success of this evening's event and the calibre of the 2011 entries and winners is a clear indication that the digital industry is growing from strength to strength.

With 453 entries this year, the judges who included international judges Teresa Clarke from Africa.com and Antti Kupila from Sid Lee in Amsterdam. The expertise of Clarke and Kupila allowed the panel to benchmark the Bookmarks entries against global excellence and proves that South African agencies and Quirk in particular can keep up with the best internationally.
