Somebody I Used to Know

‘Walk Off the Earth’ is the name of the  band who perform this unbelievable cover of the song ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’. Five musicians using one guitar simultaneously seems a little hard to believe, but they pull it off. Whilst all five play, three of the band members sing, and sing remarkably well. It’s hard to believe that these voices have been hidden from the public for so long.

Stats and Ratings

The video first hit the web on the 5th of January 2012; from the time of discovery on the 6th, up until the 20th, the video has grabbed almost 30 million hits. This unique and wildly impressive video has had almost 2 million shares, most of which came from Facebook, and roughly 1500 shares coming from blog posts. With a 99% positive like rating, its evident that this video is one to watch!

What’s Next for the Group

With the release of their own website en route, and with a massively liked viral video under their belts, the question everyone wants answered is: whats’ next?
The group do have several other covers loaded on YouTube, as well as some original stuff. With an average of 1.3 million hits for each of the other videos, it seems as though this could just be a one hit wonder, but one would hope that it isn’t.

It seems a necessity that this group finds a recording label to sign them, because it would be a shame for them to vanish back into the corners of the Internet.
