Quirk Weekend Music Mix

by Jason Warner

2012/08/17

Why, hello there.

By now you must have heard, Quirk Education and the beyond rad, Red & Yellow School, have merged. To celebrate over here at Quirk Weekend Music Mix, we're going to include the above multi-coloured vinyl tower, a subtle representation of the merge, as tribute. Yeah...we're clever like that.

By the way, be sure to tune into the much-loved 2OceansvibeRadio. They’ll be featuring the Quirk Weekend Music Mix on The Premier Show with Seth Rotherham & Bruce Good between 10am and 1pm on Fridays. Catch the audio stream over at the 2Oceanvibe’s website.

Now, back to the matter at hand…let the music play.

Cat Power – Cherokee

Shared by Gareth le Grange

American singer-songwriter Chan Marshall, better known as Cat Power, has emerged once again with a new album called Sun. Listen to the opening track called Cherokee, a slow, breathy song, definitely worth the play time.

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Only In My Dreams

Shared by Tish Amos

Hello weird America! If you haven't heard of Ariel Pink or his musical projects, you're in for a treat. While it's definitely not for everyone, there's no denying the appeal of Haunted Graffiti.

Animal Collective - Today's Supernatural

Shared by Ben Brouckaert

Lose yourself to legends, Animal Collective's, latest single, Today's Supernatural. Bright and trippy, this track bounces about with psychedelic flair while still staying rooted in the structure of a great single. Very naaice!

We hope you enjoyed this week’s Quirk Weekend Music Mix. As always, we’d like to know what you are listening to. So, pretty please…share.
