QuirkEd Merger: Red & Yellow's John Cooney On 2OceansRadio

As soon as news broke of the merger between South Africa’s premier advertising school, Red & Yellow, and leading digital marketing education organisation Quirk Education, 2OceansRadio called for an on-air interview with the man of the hour: Red & Yellow managing director, John Cooney.

The ever-likeable John chats to former rugby star and old friend, Bob Skinstad, about the merger. John takes him and listeners through the very beginning of the school, right through to how Quirk founder and Group CEO, Rob Stokes, became involved.

Asked why Quirk Education was the perfect choice, John had this to say:

“We’re in this new world, and I think the amazing thing about it is that it combines the core values of the old with the new technology which allows those core values to be expressed in a totally new space. This whole business is ideas, and while it’s the magic and logic that produces the idea, how do you take this idea into this beautiful new space? So (Quirk and Red & Yellow) spoke, and as we spoke we came to understand that we had something Quirk Education liked, and Quirk Education had something that we very much liked, not just that they’re in this digital space but that they’ve produced an award-winning textbook.”

It’s a great podcast, and definitely worth a listen.
