Quirk Weekend Music Mix

by Jason Warner

2012/08/31

Got your Red Hot Chili Pepper ticket sorted? If not, you better get on it. According to Big Concerts, demand for tickets has been the biggest they’ve ever had.

This week’s Quirk Weekend Music Mix, featuring the coolest (or most unusual) tracks being passed around the Music@quirk mailing list, is 99 percent guaranteed to melt eardrums.

Be sure to tune into the much-loved 2Oceansvibe Radio. They’ll be featuring the Quirk Weekend Music Mix on The Premier Show with Seth Rotherham & Bruce Good between 10am and 1pm on Fridays. You can catch the audio stream over at 2Oceanvibe’s website.

Let’s take a gander at what’s on offer this week!

Well, what did you expect? Of course we’re going to kick it off with an RHCP classic. There’s not much to be said, so kick back and enjoy.

ASAP Mob - Purple Kisses

The ASAP Mob crew (featuring one of the hippest rappers around, ASAP Rocky) have just released their long-awaited free mixtape featuring production from the likes of AraabMuzik and Clams Casino. Listen to one of the singles, Purple Kisses, here:

Bob Dylan - Duquesne Whistle

Shared by Gareth le Grange

Ol’ Bob just keeps ‘em coming. Watch the music video for Zimmerman’s first single, Duquesne Whistle, off the eagerly anticipated album Tempest.  What do you think? Does the world’s most famous folk singer still have that special touch?

Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Zephyr Song

Shared by Jason Warner

What’s that? Another Chili Pepper’s track? Damn straight. We’re going to play out this week’s Quirk Weekend Music Mix with one of my all-time favourites, The Zephyr Song. Enjoy!

We hope you enjoyed this week’s Quirk Weekend Music Mix. We’d like to know what you’re listening to. So go ahead, make our day.
