Grizzly Bear – Sun In Your Eyes
Shared by Gareth le Grange
The Brooklyn-based indie rock quartet, Grizzly Bear, have brought something truly special to the table, with their pristine and polished, Shields, album. Here’s the record closer, a sprawling, folk-rock beauty, dripping with omnichord electronica and pained vocals. Give it a try.
Saint Lou Lou – Maybe You
Shared by Louise Peacock
Are you loving the current rise of soaring female vocals in music? Saint Lou Lou is a duo adding to this musical trend, and they do not disappoint. Here’s their track, ‘Maybe You’. It’s a pensive, soft-pop offering. In this case, however, the video is the true masterpiece. Beautifully filmed, it has a melancholy and nostalgia that's sure to engage every viewer. Enjoy!
Tame Impala – Feels Like We Only Go Backwards
Shared by Ben Brouckaert
Here’s another from Aussie psyche-rockers, Tame Impala. ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ is a trippy, bass-driven track and a very cool hat-tip to classic 70s psychedelic rock outfits. Give it a listen. The song rings of the age of free love and great music.
Two Gallants - My Love Won't Wait
Shared by Gareth le Grange
San Franciscan folk-duo, Two Gallants, features here with ‘My Love Won’t Wait’ from their new record, The Bloom and the Blight. It’s a diamond of a track, with facets of guitar-driven melody and crashing-drum rhythm that make it shine. The video is very cool, too. Take a look.
And that’s it. We hope you liked this week’s eclectic edition of the Quirk Weekend Music Mix. You must know this by now, but we’ll say it again: we’re all about sharing and we’d like to know what you are listening to. So please, do tell.
