Quirk Weekend Music Mix

by Jason Warner

2012/10/26

Greetings traveller!

You’ve stumbled your way into something truly magical. Think a dash of Dumbledore, just a sprinkle of Gandalf the Grey, and, who could forget, the burnt-out chassis of the Magic School Bus. Yup, it’s the Quirk Weekend Music Mix.

Take some time out of the rat race to listen to a few choice tracks being sent around the different QuirkStations this past week.

And be sure to tune into the much-loved 2Oceansvibe Radio who will be featuring the Quirk Weekend Music Mix on The Premier Show with Seth Rotherham & Bruce Good, between 10am and 1pm on Fridays. You can catch the audio stream over at 2Oceanvibe’s website.

But that’s enough yapping for one day. Let’s watch the Internet.

Alabama Shakes – Hold On

Shared by Matt Wilkinson

If you’re lucky enough to own a convertible, you’re sure as hell going to love this track. Southern rockers Alabama Shakes deliver exactly what you’d expect and want from a first single.

Hudson Mohawke – Thunder Bay

Shared by Ben Brouckaert

You’ve got to love 5 Gum…they sure do know how to pick ‘em. This Saturday, if you were one of the lucky winners of a free ticket, you’ll be able to catch Scottish more-is-more producer, Hudson Mohawke, at an as-of-yet secret location. Expect lots of big bass and some pretty audacious synths.

A-Trak & Dillon Francis - Money Makin'

Shared by Jason Warner

If you’re lacking a pulse, A-Trak, one of the world’s rising electro house stars, is the man with the cure. It’s perfect for fans of Skrillex, jumping, Deadmau5 and other fashionable music.

TNGHT - Higher Ground (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice)

Shared by Jason Warner

And just when you thought you were safe… HudMo reappears! This time he’s paired up with Canadian beatmaker, Lunice, to produce one heck of a catchy club anthem for 2012, just in time for the weekend. Enjoy!

We hope you enjoyed this week’s Quirk Weekend Music Mix. Because we’re all about sharing, we’d like to know what you are listening to. So go ahead, make our day.
