The Life-Changing Power Of An Online Community

by Nash Sprenger

It can be said that as folk who occupy the digital space, day in and out, we exist, somewhat, as disembodied entities. Yes, we flit and sprint, endure, perform, and with our keyboards as main apparatus, we train the metacarpals, in an almost constant, daily dance - but we do so sitting down, at our desks.

That’s the height of physicality in our world. It’s a domain where the thought muscle is really the most active.

The last few months, however, have brought a compelling shift. For, within the Quirk ranks - a proudly digital entity – a story of courage entwined in raw physicality, has unravelled. Our very own Ravi Reddy, a man living the digital life, took it upon himself to absorb the ethos of a new revolution: The SleekGeek Revolution, and, in doing so, transformed himself bodily, using the power of an online community.

SleekGeek is built around a mission of health, transformation and weight control, and uses the platform and concept of digital to motivate, rally around and support its followers as they work to better themselves.

Ravi’s SleekGeek journey is representative of many things: from the simple determination of us digi-warriors, to the power of online as a tool for the building of communities and the empowering of individuals, to the very fact that like Ravi, our industry is morphing, transforming and transcending into something immensely more powerful.

Hello Nash. The Dr. Moll insert would have been great PR for Quirk, but I didn't see any mention of the company. Drat!

I went to look at the sleekgeek site, good use of SM, but I would have liked to hear how he launched the online platform, got people involved and the response (time) to it.

However, this post ties in nicely with Alia's Lean Marketing post.

Hi Ivin,

That's good point. I would have loved to include much more about the SleekGeek programme. That would have made the story much meatier. My intention here, however, was to simply showcase the fantastic results our colleague achieved through an online community-driven programme such as this.

If you would like to know more about SleekGeek and how they go about operating, please don't hesitate to drop me a mail at nash.sprenger@quirk.biz. I'll find out as much as can for you.

Thanks for the comment!

Love it! We very proud of Ravi and our many other success stories.

They are an inspiration to others, which is a gift.

Long live the Revolution. An unhealthy life is no life.
