The latest in an ever-expanding list of acclaimed advertising talent, it is with great excitement that Quirk announces the appointment of Paul Binikos as Managing Director of Quirk Johannesburg.
Paul brings over 15 years of advertising expertise to the Quirk Jozi, whose marquee clients include McDonald’s, Sasol, PPC, Hollard and the Airtel account across 17 African markets. In his time in advertising Paul has excelled in leadership positions from DDB South Africa to Metropolitan Republic and, most recently Halo. A self-confessed media junkie, Paul’s diverse experience in a multitude of roles as well as his in-depth understanding of the ever-changing digital landscape made him the obvious choice for the job.
“Quirk Jozi has been growing steadily recently and we decided to accelerate this with a leader who has a strong track-record running businesses that place our clients and the product we produce for them first. Paul has worked in some of SA’s top agencies across equally notable clients and we are thrilled to have this experience added to our leadership team.” – James McKay, MD Quirk South Africa
Quirk’s acquisition by global holding company WPP Group has resulted in growing opportunity for Quirk within an ever-broadening list of local and international clients. Paul relieves acting MD Justin Spratt who will be focusing his attention on Quirk’s African ambitions but will still play an active role in the stewardship of some of the agency’s key accounts.
Yesterday was Paul’s first day in the Jozi QuirkStation and in true geek fashion, he was greeted with an endless stream of ‘May the 4th be with you’ jokes from the QuirkStars.
