Derik (or D-Dawg as Nick prefers) joined the Jozi QuirkStation as an enthusiastic intern in January. After an aptitude test suggested he was right for either Marketing or Engineering he chose marketing as it fascinated him. Derik completed a BCom in Marketing at the University of Pretoria (Tukkies) and did his honours in Marketing as well as a Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing certificate at Vega School of Branding.
This rockstar at heart treasures his Ibanez S520EX guitar, and truly believes he has a sixth sense ("Yes. I see drunk people"). Derik was attracted to life online as he has been "computer oriented since a young age, so moving into the digital world was just a natural progression". If he could change one thing in the world it would be to give everyone their own personal theme song.
I'm sure that this "crazy, random, weird" ex truck-driver will find a cozy spot in this family known as Quirk.
