Facebook Developer Garage

On Tuesday night some of the QuirkStars attended the South African Facebook Developer Garage - Cape Town. It was the first of its kind in South Africa and featured a number of speakers on the topic of how to develop, market and make money out of Facebook applications.
If you are like Lyndi and believe that Geeks are the new cool, then the River Club where the “garage” was held was definitely frozen over.
The Speaker line up included:
- Joey da Silva and Trever Kinnear from Moodia (who also organised the event)
- Grant Flemming from Fontera
- Eben de Wit from Microsoft
- Ernst Kuschke from 24.com
- Dave Morin from Facebook on a Skype video call from the US
- Christine da Silva from AlterSage
- Our own System Admin, Riaan Nolan representing his site 3am.co.za
- Mike Gaylord from Chesscube.com
Thanks to Moodia for the delicious half time snacks, www.wine23.co.za for the social lubricant and all the speakers for some excellent food for thought.

I think we have so much ahead of us with FaceBook and other social networking sites.
The geeks are great to get things out of the dark and into the light but I think it is we marketers who will make them fly.
