Firefox Rise Up - or do they?

by Garrick Jones

Firefox recently released their new viral video “Rise Up”. I'm not really sure about this one. No, actually I am. It's boring. For a video whose theme is 'Firefox users: against boredom', it sure bores the hell out of me.

The video points out some interesting statistics in comparing Firefox users against Internet Explorer users – probably the highlight here – but offers very little in terms of entertainment value. The video does however feature a few viral celebrities such as the Ask a Ninja ninja.

Comments for the video have not been great and have suggested that Firefox stick with what they're good at. I have to agree.

Make up your own mind:

I'm a Firefox fan - you get a highly customizable + fast browser & screw MS at the same time.

However, this ad does nothing for me. It's not viral at all - heck, if I passed this on it would be considered spam.

Firefox users know that they're different, they don't need statistics or a video to prove it. That, coupled with a LOUSY song - I mean, really?

It reminds me of the "We are the World" song, performed all those years ago by a bunch of successful singers.

Perhaps they should have had the music & lyrics written by a #1 band?

I give it a 2/10.

That is shocking! I

As for the comparison to the "we are the World " song - I think they are worlds apart.

Yup, a big yawn.. I would have expected something more out the box from FF, considering their innovative products

Not surprised it reminds you of We R The World, as it is a take, imo..

.. and no need to bash MS - we have quite a bit to thank them for, really
