As I'm sure most people have gathered, I am quite a fan of beer. When I say this I don't just refer to the obvious benefits of the golden nectar, but also the fact that I find the brands to be creative, and usually light-hearted when it comes to their advertising.
The following Hahn Super Dry ad is one of a series that plays on the same theme:
Short? Yes.
Simple? Yes.
Hilarious? I think so, but in that subtle way (you would never guess that it is in fact Australian).
The whole series plays on the concept of the less manly activities in life having a detrimental effect on your beloved Hahn Super Dry. I just love the look on the oke's face as he steps out of the bathroom only to discover that there is a “tragic love ballad playing” on the jukebox and then again when he discovers that his beverage is beyond salvation. Dude, I feel your pain.
But to be honest, the ad is good, but that is not what has got me raving about Hahn Super Dry to my friends. It's the fact that I went to the Hahn site, I was faced with the “user manual”, which automatically begins to play upon entering the site. This manual made my day.
Usually I am not a fan of visuals and sounds being forced upon me, but this time I was glad. The manual suggests a variety of methods to “protect your beer”. I urge you to go and see it for yourself – it left me in hysterics. The term “bro-mance” has officially been added to my vocabulary.
To round up here I think that the ad is good and really enjoyable, but may not drive massive amounts of traffic to the site. However, once an individual has actually visited the site I can not imagine them not telling at least a handful of their friends about what they found there.
Protect your beer. Keep it Super Dry.
