Food manufacturers, Mars Incorporated, have recently launched a new viral campaign for their famous chocolate bar Snickers. In a series of videos, Mr. T urges us, in a manner which only Mr. T can, to “Get Some Nuts!”
They’ve done a really good job of reinventing the cult icon who is Mr. T, and merging the generation X bad ass action hero into a series of viral videos aimed at today’s modern online user.
In what I can only assume is the first in the series, our nutty hero, Mr. T prepares for war!
The next video shows Mr. T hitting the streets with his newly constructed weapon of choice and issuing a barrage of Mr T catch phrases and one-liners in an action sequence reminiscent of his most notable character, B.A. Baracus.
Even the music hints towards the A Team theme song …
…and finally, this ‘behind the scenes’ video of Mr. T dishing out his usual dose of ‘tude;
The Get Some Nuts site itself isn’t anything out of the ordinary, and features the expected branded wallpapers, mouse cursors, Facebook widgets, customised versions of the video (a la Elf Yourself) and Mr. T sound bytes.
However, the site is well stylised in a chocolate brown, trimmed with gold and brimming with humour - just like the man himself.
