What media spend?

by Rob Stokes

A while back I wrote about the BMW ad on YouTube doing 500 views on its first day. Well it just hit 100 000 views… sweet!

Now we have the Nintendo Wii ad, which has just cracked the 1 000 000 view mark in less than a week… incredible!

As Jon Cherry put it:
All those people lining up to see your ad - and not a media penny in sight.

However, the Wii advert may have spread like wildfire (I want one!! Check out what it can do here, here  and all of it here ) but it's not quite the most viewed video on YouTube.

That honour belongs to Judson Laipply’s “Evolution of Dance” which, according to the description, is the funniest 6 minutes you’ll ever see…. 35 million viewers can’t all be wrong!

With YouTube wielding this kind if power it really puts Google’s seemingly massive payment for them in perspective…!
