Save the Designer

by Zubeir Soeker

Ah, the joys of Internet Explorer 6. Let me speak on behalf of web designers and developers across the galaxy - we loathe this dreaded browser. It’s a plague. It’s a curse. It’s outdated. It’s made by Microsoft.

It’s the horrid browser that sucks up about 60% of the website creation process - and about half of that is spent on swearing.

Sadly, we are but slaves to this web browser as a whopping 36% of Internet users still use this menace. So at the moment we can only succumb to its dark manipulative will.

For the sake of all that is good (and my deadlines) break us free from these shackles.

If you’re still using IE6, please, please, please (ad nauseum) upgrade your browser.
If  you really want to be wicked cool, use the incredibly sexy Firefox.

I say let the revolution begin today! Save a developer by boycotting Internet Explorer 6!

Death to IE6! Let it be hung for its insolence!

a positive - ie does expose some bad coding techniques which other browsers gloss over eg closing tags (which validating picks at anyhow I guess)

He he he. I couldn't agree more, and I'm not even a designer.
