I liken Quirk's methods and tools to this 80’s phrase which I am bringing back - "Radical Styles"!
My name is Claire and I am one of the newest QuirkStars, my role being Account Manager. Today I am celebrating my 1st month at Quirk, and my experience thus far has been a positive one.
I have spent the past 3 years working for myself. My job description included; event design, artist representation and PR consulting. I predominantly worked within the Arts and Culture industry, although due to a keen interest in the invaluable work carried out by many a charitable organisation I actively sought contracts with organisations that promoted sustainable development / community upliftment and transparency within the finances. Prior to the self-employed period I worked in the world of sales for 5 years – including a 9 month stint of managing the sales team.
It may seem that my experience is far from the world of online marketing, although there are many parallels. The overall focus for my consultancy efforts and that of Quirk's services is ultimately to optimise our clients core business, whether it be raising brand awareness or marketing products/services to specifically identified audience.
Quirk was a natural next step for me as I was aware of the need for individuals and organisations alike to have a carefully constructed presence within the World Wide Web if the aim is to reach more people, sell more products etc.
I am most impressed with the ability to offer a transparent and almost entirely measurable service to our clients, which really makes the job of selling/providing the recommended services a whole lot simpler.
At the risk of sounding like an advertorial for Quirk, I am going to continue with a few more positive points...
I am very impressed with the active way in which Quirk offers insight and education on the topic of eMarketing for those who are willing to acquire the knowledge with a relevant and insightful newsletter, lectures at varsities and events such as the Breakfast Briefings.
The team are equally open to sharing their knowledge – and for me, who is yet to gain the full understanding, it has made the experience of joining a new company – which can otherwise be a daunting affair - an exciting and beneficial one...thanks dudes and dudettes ( yes, more of the 80’s phrasing). QuirkStars indeed!
All in all, I have found an organisation that embodies ‘Radical Styles’ and also invents them.
A FEW MORE 80’s phrases - Eat my shorts (made famous by Bart Simpson, but originated from ‘The Breakfast Club'), chill pill, dweeb, boho, no shit Sherlock, wicked, amped, bitchin’...
And then there was “dudical” – used to describe a place or thing as cool as someone dubbed “dude”. Anyone ever used that one, or even heard of it??? Hmmm.
