When Viral Bites

by Carlos Menezes

Sometimes commercials go viral for all of the wrong reasons. Take a look at this clip from Flea Market Montgomery.

Now I'm sure that whoever made this ad did so in the hopes of it going viral and probably had high expectations of it achieving a high view count. Well, that it did - 1.2 million views on YouTube to be precise.

What they definitely weren't hoping for was the fact that it would be under the title of "Worst Commercial Ever." Much like the Star Wars Kid this clip has done the rounds due to how ridiculous and embarrassing it is.
(Be warned, it runs in at nearly two minutes and it's a painful experience to watch it - I only lasted 30 seconds)

Apparently that's Sammy Stephens in the clip, and to be fair there have been reports of this clip still generating traffic to the stores in the form of people who want to meet him and see him do the dance in person.

I don't know - it's one thing to see businessmen not taking themselves too seriously, but I can't help but cringe every time I watch this.
