Blogging the Newsletter

by Sarah Manners

Today’s newsletter marked the release of the final installment of our 10 week long series on Social Media, and with that statement I breathe a huge sigh of relief it’s been a pretty tough series to write (what with there being so much to say and all).
This week we looked at blogging: what it is, how to get started and how to ensure a blog’s success. If you haven’t signed up for the newsletter you can check it out here.

Sarah (other Sarah) also featured some very interesting articles which included a look at how to market to media-savvy teens without driving them away and some tips on how to boost your blogger profile.

In the next edition we’ll have something very special for our South African marketers and after that we’ll be launching our second “How To” series: How To Build Good Websites – keep an eye out for it or sign up to receive our newsletter.

Wow Quirk is definitly into their Sarah's. Blogging and Blogs are really popular and growing, and I know that for now its definitly my little break when I have a mosey around some cool ones (like gottaquirk) and other favorites with my coffee break, but not sure hpow long this will keep me interested.

What I wanted to know from you is, Quirk has a blog and I see they have a facebook group- how much business have the blog and the facebook page brought you guys? Has it paid off in terms of revenue? Is it quanitifiable? It looks like you guys post alot (one of the reasons I like to come to this blog) but have you made real business out of it ? and out of facebook?

Chewy, the short answer to your question, is yes. I believe we do see an ROI from our blog, newsletter, FB groups etc.
However off the top of my head I have very little actual proof of this but your question has really made me think.
I'm in Greece at a conference at the moment so time is short. BUT I will give this some thought, and come back in a couple of days with a more comprehensive answer for you.
Watch this space...

Thank you Rob for taking the time and effort in responding to my query. I look forward to hearing your feedback on this matter.
