Blog Action Day

by Sarah Manners

So apart from being Monday and the day after a fantastic display on the rugby field courtesy of the Springboks it is also Blog Action Day.

Blog Action Day is essentially the first annual event where bloggers from around the world come together to focus on a single topic – the environment. We all know that awareness and education are the first steps to facilitate change and that’s why we at GottaQuirk were so keen to get involved (that and the fact that there’s quite a few of the tree hugger variety around here).

So… eMarketing is out for the day and the environment is in.
The QuirkStars will be posting on environmental topics throughout the day so keep an eye out for some excellent tips on what you can do to save the environment and while you're at it send us your thoughts on what we can all do to make the world a better place – I don’t know about you but I’m not really keen for a fiery or icy death any time soon so let’s see what we can do to prevent it, shall we?

Update: Blog Action Day posts from the Stars
  1. Be the change you want to see
  2. Saving the world one blog post at a time
  3. Sharing is caring
  4. Go Green!
  5. Development, Poverty and the Environment
  6. Find Something, Do Something

Everyone always rants about Saving the Enviroment and Global Warming. The fact is very few people really understand the issues and what the problems are. I wonder how many people know that the temperature used to be alot higher then it is now, and the current rise in temperature is part of a natural cyclical process that the earth goes through. The problem is that our INFRASTRUCTURE is what can't handle it. Our gutters, our dams etc. The earth can handle the temperature increase no problem, it always has. Anyway, I can carry on about this subject forever so I will just end it now. Just wanted to voice my 2 cents - happy Blog Action Day (I shudder at this name).

PS: Mr Rob, still waiting for my answer about how much business Blogging and Facebook has gotten Quirk in real terms - don't forget :)

Chewbacca I was just doing some research to answer your ROI question (because i still don't have any concrete answers :)). I came across this article by Bryan Eisenberg which I thought summed up my thoughts pretty well. www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=1368441
